Nice video man, really interesting to hear you opinion. I think the main reason games like modern Persona are more appealling than the old school JRPGs like DQ or og Final Fantasy is they focus more on moment to moment combat and having a more character driven narrative. Old RPGs are more about long term decision making and resource managment in dungeon crawling and simple stories that expect you to, well, role play that seems really boring to anyone that isn't a tryhard nerd. I'm simplifying a lot but think about it as how much deeper aiming and shooting is in Resident Evil 4 compared to RE1 but the focus of both games is different, some like one style better than the other. If you liked the combat of P3 you should try other SMT games, they have many takes on the weakness exploiting combat, they all are equally fun. Fusion also being balanced differently, some games even having evolutions by leveling up. Also based Radical Red enjoyer.

I've never understood the point of a speedrun. The idea of a game is to enjoy it. Rushing through it is just some pitoful way to show off

Always nice when someone gets into persona. This game has one of my favorite narratives ever since I am sucker for this thematic of enjoying life to the fullest even when there are a lot of lows. P4 and P5 definitely are still fun games, but go for a much more upbeat and silly vibe

This randomly popped up for me and I'm glad i watched it. Good video! Happy you like p3. I would say it's my favorite persona game because of how very real the characters are. Not only do they act independent of you in the game,they do so in the story. Most of their development has nothing to do with the mc. Characters talk to each other,dislike each other make up,and slowly grow to become friends. It makes them feel like real people. Sadly this is the only game that did that. But i think in these sorts of games, people prefer the fantasy of fast friendships and every character revolving around the mc. So I'm eager to hear your thoughts on p4 when you finish!

the strafe-running being faster thing is actually a very well-known quirk of the Dark Engine, both Old and New. It's just baked in. I don't know why.

Lmao I strafe run even if I'm not speedrunning a game, if it picks up speed its a good way to go cover to cover like System Shock 2. Another one comes to mind, Easy Red 2, which is a war game, but strafe running turns your soldier into usain bolt if you do it right. Gamers know the secrets.

wait wait did one of those comments said that remembering door codes in order to speedrun the game is cheating? what in the actual ass are these people made out of it's like "GTA San Andreas speedrun" and the run has 17 hours well not exactly a SPEED run and if i wanted to watch somoene simply beating missions i would watch gta missions

just finished this game for the firs time and i think i got a bug. The ramblers kept spawning in The many boss room and blocking my way, couldn't get in room normally. Wasted about 30 attempts. Also i had low ammo for everything but heavy weapon 6(dont remember name) and worm spitter (not that u can find in diegos room).

I personally perfer glitchless runs but why would someone hate on another for doing/liking those? Would be like hating on someone for cooking eating mashed potatoes instead of baked.
